Can you believe spring is here and Easter is just around the corner? I just love spring, the weather is warming up the flowers are blooming and there is color everywhere you look! When it comes to dressing for spring, I just love soft “spring” pastel colors in kids fashion. Now I know what you’re thinking…you have boys, where are you going to find pastel colors for them? Well, my friends OshKosh B’Gosh has been my go-to for years for budget friendly, on-trend, durable kids fashion, and guess what, they carry spring pastel fashion for boys!
When it comes to buying for my boys I love to buy mix and match fashions…something they can wear multiple ways. Especially since we have to travel to see family for spring break & to gather with family for Easter. Packing only a few pieces of clothing that will give them 3-4 days of wear is a big help when there are 6 of you.
We travel a lot since we moved down here from Austin…and over the past 5 years I’ve learned a thing or two about packing up my boys to visit family. Today I’m going to share a few packing tips with you.
Have the kids lend a hand: Don’t try to tackle everything on your own. Have your kids grab their underwear, socks, swimsuit and toiletries. This will leave you with tops and bottoms.
Pack mix and match fashions. Two bottoms and three shirts should give you 5-6 days of wear, that’s more than plenty for spring break. This will help save room in the suitcase…which in turn will save room in the trunk.
Let the kids pick 3-4 items to take to play with in the car & during quiet time. I usually let the kids pack a backpack with items to keep them busy. You can also try making busy bags, but my kids are much happier when they get to pick what they take, plus it’s one less thing you have to worry about doing.
Pack car friendly snacks. It doesn’t matter if they just had breakfast, chances are they will ask for a snack within 30 minutes of hitting the road. To keep from stopping every 30 min or having cranky kids pack a few mess free snack like dried fruits, nuts or granola bars.
Travel shouldn’t be stressful…play some road games like finding license plates or I spy, stop to stretch at least once…if longer than 4 hours I suggest twice. If your not in a hurry, stop and smell the flowers, take some pics…it is spring after all and you just bought some adorable clothes at OshKosh!
