While that attitude of suffering-through and not making a fuss can be admirable, it isn’t always the smart thing to do. Sure, as we age, our body starts to break down in little ways and we may find ourselves dealing with pesky little annoyances that, while uncomfortable, aren’t life-threatening. But there are also times when we should be seeing a doctor to get treatment, even if the problem we’re dealing with isn’t one that seems serious. If it causes you pain, affects your quality of life, or seems to be getting progressively worse, you should see a healthcare professional.
Here are some examples:
Hearing Loss
If you spent most of your youth blasting rock and metal on cheap headphones, went to a lot of concerts and pretty much neglected your ear health, it may be no surprise that you’re suffering from diminished hearing capacity now. Hearing issues can also be exacerbated by allergies/chronic illness, certain medications and genetics.
But no matter what the reason for your hearing loss, and no matter to what degree you’re suffering from it, you should see a doctor to find out about treatment. Taking the time to speak to a professional and learn more about the types of hearing aids, surgeries and treatments available to help restore your hearing (or even just to utilize resources for those whose issues are more chronic or untreatable) can positively impact your life. Sure, you could just live with the problem, but why should you? Call a doctor to talk about your hearing loss.
Vision Loss
Just as hearing problems ramp up as we get older, so can vision issues. Some people find that they are genetically predisposed to diminishing vision as they age; others’ issues are hampered by outside factors, injury or illness. Whatever the reason, getting to an eye doctor for a proper exam and a prescription should be your first course of action.
Many people put off eye exams because they worry they’re admitting to some type of age-related frailty; they worry about the cost, or they simply don’t want to admit the problem is that bad. Truth is, most eye exams and glasses are reasonably affordable, evne for those who aren’t insured. And there’s no reason to suffer through bad vision and all the risks associated with just because you’re reluctant to get glasses.
Anxiety/Depression
Mental health issues aren’t unique to young people, or to old people for that matter. It’s something we all deal with. Yet, many older people are more reluctant to get treatment for their mental health problems. Whether this is due to stigma in older generations, an unwillingness to spend money on what they see as “unnecessary” care, or reluctance to admit they need help (probably a combination of the three) is unclear. But you should see someone – whether that’s a therapist, psychologist, general practitioner or whoever you feel comfortable with) to discuss the problems you’re facing. They will be discreet and help you work through your feelings, prescribing you treatments and possibly medications to help you get through your struggles.
You don’t have to suffer alone. Get help today!
These are just three areas in which you should not neglect your health, no matter how “frivolous” you might think it is. Taking care of all aspects of your health is just as important as taking care of the more pressing matters.

As you all know the timeless classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released on Blu-ray, DVD & Digital earlier this month. In this story, friends (the seven dwarfs) come together to save someone they truly love.
Recently, a fellow blogger friend Tiffany unexpectedly lost her husband Sean, who was only 35 years. Tiffany is now left as the sole breadwinner & caretaker of herself and their two adorable young children named Jasmine (8) and Seanie (4).
It didn’t take long for our blogging community to come together & get behind her not just in spirit, but financially as well. Thanks to Teresa from Making it All Work, a GoFundMe account was set up to donate to help Tiffany and her kids to help them get through this gut-wrenching period.
I can’t begin to imagine what Tiffany and her kids are going through. I do know that she has a ton of support from her loving family & friends, as well as from the blogging community. She’s an incredibly sweet and giving person, so it’s no surprise that others are giving back to help her out.

Day 3, The last day at the D23 Expo! It’s bitter-sweet, I know within 24hrs I will see my kids again, get some sleep…yes sleep, we’ve been up till 1 am, and up at 6:30 am..so sleep is on my mind at this point…Yet there is so much more to see or do! It’s All Music And Games today!
Well to start we get to have breakfast and a Q&A with 4 Disney Short Director/Producers!! WALT DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS SHORT FILMS COLLECTION which was released 8/18 is an an extraordinary new collection of award-winning and beloved short films including the never-before-released Frozen Fever, starring Frozen’s Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven and Kristoff, and the Oscar-nominated Lorenzo.
After breakfast we headed over to the D23 Expo for the final day of panels and shopping the show floor! We started at the It’s Game Time: Disney Interactive Takes the Stage panel.

Disney In Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration…this was an amazing panel!! I mean, how often do you get to watch Silly Symphony cartoons/shorts with a live symphony?!
After that epic show, we headed over to the Disney Music Emporium to check out the new Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection series. This collection includes 12 collectors edition soundtracks from beloved Disney movies that are all celebrating a milestone this year. Our last free time, it was time to check out a few of the shops to see what goodies I could find & explore more of what the show floor has to offer. The Pod from Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, Yoda made from Jelly Belly’s, Mini Radiator Springs Replica, and plenty of Disney Infinity 3.0 Fun! Plus, Look, Alex and Ani Bracelets! I stood strong, and didn’t buy anymore, but have several on my list!
“The Tunes Behind the Toons” screening and Q+A panel was our last panel at the D23 Expo. This was a short form documentary that celebrates the power of music in animation. From the silent film days when organists played live accompaniments, to the music within today’s animated features, this documentary traces the origins of cartoon music and its pioneers. We didn’t get to stick around for too much of the Q&A because we had to leave to catch flights.
Once we returned to the hotel, we said goodbye to many of our new friends had some dinner and drinks at the bar and then finally caught my shuttle to the airport at 9:30. My flight wasn’t until 12:50 am PST so it was a good thing I had Mariah from The Simple Parent to sit and talk with until our flights.
Goodbye Selfie
It wasn’t such a long flight from LA to Houston…maybe because I fell asleep right after take off…lol…hey, 4 days of early to rise, late to bed will catch up to you! Then I had a 3 hour layover in Houston…thank goodness it was in one of the smaller terminals so it wasn’t busy and I could just relax and try not to fall asleep. Finally boarded my hour flight to Corpus and guess what…fell asleep again! lol…I made it home around 10:30 am CST. It was a long weekend, but so worth it! I would jump at the chance to do it all over again!
