The Finest Hours – January 29, 2016

The year kicked off with The Finest Hours, a heroic action-thriller that took us back to the most daring rescue mission in the history of the U.S. Coast Guard. This movie, presented in Digital 3D™, Real D 3D and IMAX® 3D, brought the audience right into the heart of the action. It was like being on the rescue boat, feeling the waves crash over us and experiencing the danger and courage required for such a mission.

Zootopia – March 4, 2016

Next, the modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia welcomed us. This Disney’s creation is a city like no other, housing animals from every environment in a melting pot of diversity. The movie took us on an adventure with rookie Officer Judy Hopps and a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve a mystery that shook the city.

The Jungle Book – April 15, 2016

April arrived with the all-new live-action epic adventure of The Jungle Book. The movie was about the journey of self-discovery of Mowgli, a man-cub raised by a family of wolves, guided by the panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera and the free-spirited bear Baloo. This film was a captivating journey from start to finish, with a host of unforgettable characters.

Captain America: Civil War – May 6, 2016

May brought us Captain America: Civil War, where the Avengers fractured into two camps over the issue of accountability and government interference. The movie offered a thrilling and thought-provoking look at the challenges of power, responsibility and friendship.

Alice Through the Looking Glass – May 27, 2016

In Alice Through the Looking Glass, Alice returns to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter. This movie brought us back into the magical and often perplexing world that Lewis Carroll created, with a fresh new adventure that kept us on the edge of our seats.

Finding Dory – June 17, 2016

The unforgettable forgetful blue tang, Dory, returned to the big screen in Finding Dory. This movie was a touching and funny exploration of Dory’s past and her journey to find her family.

The BFG – July 1, 2016

July introduced us to the Big Friendly Giant in The BFG. This movie, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Roald Dahl’s beloved classic, took us to Giant Country where we learned about dreams, friendship and courage in the face of danger.

Pete’s Dragon – August 12, 2016

In Pete’s Dragon, we followed the tale of a young orphan who sought refuge from his abusive adoptive parents with the help of a pet dragon and a couple who lived in a lighthouse. This movie was a heartfelt and magical journey about the power of friendship and the strength of the human spirit.

Queen of Katwe – Fall 2016

The inspiring story of a young girl from Uganda training to become a world chess champion was brought to life in Queen of Katwe. This movie was a testament to the power of dreaming big and working hard to achieve those dreams.

Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had us gripping our seats as a band of resistance fighters united for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans. This film was a thrilling addition to the Star Wars saga.

The Light Between Oceans – TBD 2016

Lastly, The Light Between Oceans told the heart-wrenching story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife who raised a baby they rescued from an adrift rowboat. This movie was a poignant exploration of love, loss and the complexities of the human heart.

Jurassic World, the latest movie in Steven Spielberg’s popular Jurassic Park franchise, hit theaters with audiences eager to run with the dinosaurs once again.
With the film ranking in a jaw-dropping $1.5 billion worldwide, it’s not surprising that Universal Pictures has decided this sort of performance warrants another go. The studio announced that it has given the unnamed Jurassic World sequel a green light, the BBC reports. The movie, which is slated for 2018, will once again feature Chris Pratt, Executive Producer Steven Spielberg, and writer/director Colin Trevorrow.

Growing up there were many special “stuffed animals” I had, but there were a few teddy bears that were my favorite, mostly because I received them from a special person. As I got older I didn’t need my hoard of stuffed toys anymore, so I did the only thing that I could think to do with them…donate them to the local children’s hospital to bring happiness to someone else’s life, the way they did mine.
Now that I’m a parent, I spend my days picking up my kids stuffed toys, but there is one out of all of them, that really mean something to my oldest, myself and my husband. How could one little teddy bear mean so much? It was the last gift my son got from his grandfather. He actually opened it on Christmas 2004, a few days after he had passed. It was a normal sized white teddy bear with golden ears in the prayer position…and when you squeeze it, it says the lords prayer. To this day, almost 11 years later, my son still has the bear sitting in his room. It’s a bit beat up and doesn’t play the prayer anymore, but it’s brings on so much emotion it’s hard to give up.
Do you remember receiving your first teddy bear and the joy and companionship that it brought you? No one understands this feeling better than Snuggle Bear, who has been softening laundry and hearts for over 30 years. Snuggle’s mission to make the world a softer place is especially meaningful as we celebrate National Teddy Bear Day September 9th.
Small acts of kindness make a big difference. So starting today, and throughout the month of SeptemBEAR, Snuggle is spreading joy and brightening people’s day through the simple, heartfelt act of giving away teddy bears through #ShareABear. Snuggle is encouraging everyone to take part in the #ShareABear movement by sharing a photo, video or story of you and a special teddy bear in your life. As part of the movement, Snuggle will donate 5,000 bears through Random Acts, a non-profit organization, to help brighten the days of children in need.
To kick off the effort, Snuggle surprised some special friends with a snuggly act of kindness, sharing teddy bears to help celebrate his favorite holiday and to encourage others to #ShareABear.
The positive effects of teddy bears are well documented, providing people with a rare companionship that very few other things can match. Particularly during times of sickness or stress, they can bring comfort and reassurance. And, at any age, holding a teddy bear can trigger a release of “feel good” hormones.
“As one of the fastest growing brands in the fabric conditioning category, Snuggle is focused on making the world a softer place,” said Bibie Wu, Vice President of Marketing, Snuggle. “So it’s no surprise that SeptemBEAR is one of Snuggle’s favorite time of the year. Snuggle surveyed over 5,500 consumers to discover the true importance of the teddy bear in people’s lives. Results showed:
o 73% of people had a teddy bear as their first stuffed animal
o 38% still sleep with their teddy bear but won’t tell their friends!
o 71% still find comfort in their bear when sick
o 54% have passed down a teddy bear to a child or loved one
o 44% of people own more than four teddy bears!
Random Acts is a global non-profit organization, now celebrating its 5th anniversary, which aims to conquer the world, one random act of kindness at a time. Its network of child-focused charities includes, but is not limited to: Children’s Aid Society, New York; People Serving People, Minnesota; HELP of South Nevada and Bradley Angle, Oregon.

I love the Bay Jammin’ Concert & Cinema Series 2015 held in Corpus Christi, Tx at Cole Park. Below you will find the details on each series, including dates, & times.
The Bay Jammin’ CONCERT Series will be held every Thursday, June 4–August 13, from 7:30pm–9:30pm. It will showcase a wonderful musical group each week for your entertainment. Music will be LIVE—in a variety of genre from rock, country, world beat, jazz, blues and more.

SULLY SMASH
INGREDIENTS
1½ oz Pura Vida Añejo
½ oz NARANJA Orange Liqueur
¾ oz Organic Agave Nectar
1½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake to chill and combine. Strain into a highball glass packed with crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint
