Okay, so a few weeks ago I finally talked myself into going to the doctor for my weight issues…I’ve been up and down, have tried weight loss programs with no more than 7lbs lost…then started to gain while on it…since I quite that program, I’ve been gaining, so I just felt it was time. Anyways…I went to the dr. and they did all kinds of blood test. While nothing abnormal came up to account for my weight gain…the dr. did say that my cholesterol and triglycerides were way up…so, NO MORE FAT FRIED FOODS! Well, I knew that was coming since the day we bought our deep fryer…but we love our fried foods.
Along with being unhealthy, our fryer was a headache to clean and left residue on our cabinet and counter over time. I was introduced a few weeks ago to Rosewill’s Oil-less Fryer and at first was like how the heck does it work? We were both a little curious and skeptical on how the food would taste…

This machine has a handy drawer-like pan with a basket to place your foods in for frying. There’s a max line printed on the basket so no stressing on whether you put too much in or not. Ready to fry? Simply place food items in the basket, set in the pan and set the cooking time and temp. Then select the on/off button to start. Homemade fries need 1/2 Tbsp. oil when running and it is recommended to use oven ready snacks. The manual has a guide for times and temps.
We used it first with some french fries and they came out great! They were perfectly cooked, with the oil we either had them come out too soft or too hard, but this was the perfect cook. The only negative is the cooking times are a bit longer, like the fries took around 15 minutes versus 3-4 minutes in a fat fryer. It was a little smaller then we thought it would be, so It fits nicely on our countertop & is small enough to get tucked away in a cabinet.

Summer for a lot of families mean travel, whether it’s for beach vacation or just visiting family it can be stressful. I have 5 tips to give your summer stress free traveling. 1. Plan. If you know that you will be traveling this summer create a travel binder with checklists so you have everything planned out. From route or flight numbers (tickets) to lists on what to take. Having a list and everything in a neat little package saves time, energy and stress! 2. Pack Early. Don’t wait till the last minute to pack! Have your bags packed at least a week in advance. That way if you realize you forget something (that shouldn’t happen if you create lists, but you never know) you have time to get it done and not stress about your time limit. 3. Let The Kids Help. Yes, I’m sure your saying “but I thought you said stress free..the kids only add stress” well, If you give your kids a print out or hand drawn paper with exactly what to pack, they can at least have their items ready for you to place in the bags neatly…I will post example below 4. Have It Ready. Go over your final check the night before and have them by the door, or packed in your vehicle ready to go (I don’t pack in the car the night before because we live in an apartment and that is just screaming break into me). 5. Don’t Sweat The Small Things. If even after you go through all this and your on your way..you happen to forget the tooth brush because, well they had to brush their teeth that morning and you didn’t want to buy brushes just for the trip…there are drug stores everywhere just go purchase one. It’s nothing to freak out about. Things will happen all you can do is breath and calmly handle it. I hope these tips help you have a stress free family vacation this summer! Cleaning your home is something that happens daily. With four boys, keeping the house clean is a major chore. I thought I was doing ok, until Dyson sent my their newest upright the Dyson Light Ball.
I have Dyson stick vac that I absolutely LOVE, but it’s not made to clean the whole floor or keep up with my boys. So we mostly use another upright that we got several years ago, and I thought It was doing the job. I was excited to get the new Dyson light ball upright to see if it’s up to the challenge of keeping up with my boys.
First off, let me say it isn’t very light, like you would expect being a “Light-Ball”, and might be a little hard to push for weaker people like my grandmother, there is no way she could use this vacuum.
Everything pieced together nicely including the attachments which sit on the side of it rather than the back like most vacuums. There is no switch to tilt the vacuum, you just simply pull it back and it clicks from its upright position and back easily. I love the feature that I can turn on and off the brush so I can seamlessly go from carpet to hard floors no problem and I didn’t lose any suction because of the Radial Root Cyclone™ technology that is designed to maximize power. A mesh shroud helps separate large debris, with inner cyclones generating powerful centrifugal forces. Every angle of each airway is honed to ensure microscopic particles like pollen and mold are separated from the airflow..
I vacuumed the floor & the Dyson Light Ball was able to pick up dust and crumbs that apparently my other vacuum left behind. Emptying the container was just as easy, one button release, then use the same button over the trashcan to release contents into trash.
Overall I’m very pleased with this vacuum and WOULD recommend to friends and family looking for an easy to use vacuum that can keep up with even the toughest little messes.
